your branding is on point.

Tick all the right boxes to make sure

(For a little backstory: A few years ago, I made Robin’s first logo. It was a fun, delicate handwritten font with her tagline below it. Looking back, it was perfect for what season she was in at the time. But as she grew in her career, she felt the need for a more sophisticated, mature look that would appeal to her target clientele, which led to our partnership for a complete brand identity overhaul.)

From An Outdated Logo to Discovering A Solid Brand Identity:

So let’s talk about Robin.

She’s this super talented real estate agent in Middle Tennessee. She’s got a stellar reputation and a handful of awards to prove it.

But here’s the thing:
Despite her top-notch service, she was having a tough time attracting the right kind of clients.

Robin already had a logo she was using, but not so much an overall brand identity. It was perfect for what season she was in at the time. But she has grown so much in her career, she had a gut feeling that she needed more of a well-rounded, sophisticated, mature look that would appeal to her target clientele, which led to our partnership for a complete brand identity overhaul.

She had a really clear idea of what her brand needed to be, who it was for, and who she wanted to attract, which always makes my job so incredibly fun. It’s like I get a whole new level of freedom, because I have a clear picture of what we’re trying to accomplish in my mind, but beyond that I also have full creative freedom to create whatever will work best for that market.

Bringing a brand (or website) to life in this way is such an honor for me. I know the difference a good brand can make, but I also know the difference it can make when it truly feels true to you and aligned with where you want to take it! It really is such a different confidence level.

The Design Phase: Expressing Ideas into A Brand Identity

Our mission was pretty straightforward:
We needed to give Robin’s brand a facelift to match her A-list service level.

Robin wanted to get the attention of types of clients who would appreciate the luxurious experience she was providing. She turns what could be a dull house hunt into a Hollywood-style home shopping spree, and she wanted to draw in folks who want that one-on-one relationship rather than just “letting you look at a house and on to the next client” type of ordeal.

We rolled up our sleeves and got to work!

First, I put in some research into what types of elements bring in that sophisticated attention to a design or brand. Then went on an all-out image search, Googling and Pinteresting my way to find examples of ways to express how I am imagining taking the brand. I ended up leaning into 2 separate inspiration boards, which had various images of typography examples, silky fabrics, high-heeled shoes, and luxurious spaces.

I presented both inspiration boards to Robin. We wanted her brand to scream “professional but approachable and friendly” — just like Robin! She was drawn to 1 rather than the other, so we moved forward taking that creative direction.

From there I began finding and testing out a boatload of fonts to find the most perfect font for her logo.

Then the same thing happened again!

I was stuck with 2 amazing logo options. I literally couldn’t choose which one to show her, so I ended up showing her both and let her make the call.

We played around with some design tweaks here and there, and voila! We ended up with something clean, classy, and oh-so sophisticated.

Just the perfect match for the top-tier service Robin gives out like candy.
